Winter Gala Brings Holiday Magic to Region 1 December 2023

The holidays are a wonderful time of giving back and sharing experiences with friends and loved ones.

Region 1's Winter Gala encompassed everything we celebrate about the holiday season.

ABCTX supported the event for youth with visual impairments by providing an ECC Grant to reserve the venue where the gala would take place. The aim was to create an inclusive and enjoyable experience, promoting community engagement and support for the students. We believe the organizers succeeded in a big way!

We celebrate TVI, Susana Andrews who championed and continues to champion events like this for her district.

Because of her and her team of volunteers, 50 children were able to participate in the experience.

The Winter Gala facilitated meaningful social interactions, friendships, and empowerment amongst students. The event underscored the importance of community-driven initiatives in creating inclusive spaces with a range of activities tailored to accommodate the unique needs of children with visual impairments.
