The Gift of Dance
A kindergarten teacher of children with visual impairments was concerned about a little girl in her class who seemed to be struggling with balance and coordination.
The teacher believed that dance lessons might help to correct the problem, but she wasn’t sure the family could afford them.
After talking with the child’s mother, the teacher applied to ABCTX for a grant to fund ballet classes.
After only three months, the teacher forwarded images to the ABCTX board, showing the little girl in her tutu, dancing all over her living room. The smile on her face was radiant, as were the smiles on the faces of the board members. This is why we do what we do and why we are not afraid to ask for donations to fund such requests.
