We are Calling for Sponsors for Our 20 Year Anniversary Fundraiser 2024!

Dear Potential Sponsor,

Did you know that approximately 11,000 students in the state’s public school system are classified as legally blind? All Blind Children of Texas, (ABCTX), is a nonprofit organization that funds learning, recreational, and socialization opportunities for children and youth, who are blind or partially sighted. Such financial assistance is needed, because many families have limited incomes or because some expenses cannot be paid with public funds allocated to school districts.

ABCTX was Established in 2004, and the organization has funded hundreds of requests aimed at “building brighter futures” for kids with vision loss. A few examples are:

  • Paying for music lessons
  • Sending students to special summer camps
  • Buying adaptive equipment such as beeping baseballs
  • Covering the cost for a group to attend ceramics class,
  • Purchasing airline tickets so a youth, who is blind might march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The board of directors provides such opportunities by conducting fund raising events. ABCTX does not receive any government funding. At the end of September, our board will be celebrating 20 years of supporting children with a Fundraiser event in Central Austin. All proceeds from the event will go to the grants we provide for teachers of the visually impaired, orientation and mobility instructors, and students, age 18-22, who are transitioning into independent living situations.

Please fill out the form below to become an essential part of ABCTX, and get your business or organization's name out there!

We had a blast at the winner drawing on November 13, 2023 at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The members of the board located in Austin got together with members and raffle participants across the country via Zoom and spun the wheel of prizes!!!

This year, we made over $2500 with over 40 raffle participants! We are excited to grow this in the coming years and spread awareness for children and youth who are blind or visually impaired in Texas.
